Two web-based companies, Metal Smart and e-metalmarket.com, have joined forces to create an on-line marketplace that will allow major Chinese metal producers to market their products and order raw materials from the West.
“Faster than ever before, the Internet can bring together people in well-developed countries with those in developing countries, such as China,” says George Stong, chief executive officer of Los Angeles-based e-metalmarket.com.
The other company, Metal Smart, is a New York, N.Y.-based on-line exchange for the raw material metal industries. It started up in January and now has more than 700 clients.
