COATS (over-the-counter) Windy up 50 cents

Shares of Windy Mountain Explorations responded positively to confirmation of a large, low- grade copper discovery on the MacLeod Lake property north of Chibougamau, Que., jumping 50 cents to close at $3 on a volume of 21,650 for the week ended April 24. Windy recently completed a 35-hole drilling program on its wholly owned grassroots property. Still on an upward trend, Lithium shares gained another 50 cents to close at $1.50 on a volume of 80,550. Lithium is earning a 50% interest in the Oxford Lake project in Manitoba where Noranda is drilling to expand reserves of 800,000 tons grading 0.19 oz. per ton. Lithium President Harvey Tremblay said a detailed report on the property will be completed by June.

Once again, Southern Arizona Mining and Smelting took an uncontested lead in trading volume, but shares dropped 7 cents for the second straight week to close at 40 cents on 557,700. Southern shares soared earlier this month in reaction to the company’s new interests in the Eskay Creek area of British Columbia.

Golden Hope Mines’ Bellechase gold-base metal project in the Eastern Townships of Quebec will see some activity this summer after three companies committed a total of $9 million to exploration over a 3-year period. Golden Hope shares traded 60-70 cents on a volume of 28,000.
