MINING MARKETS & INVESTMENT NEWS – INSIDER TRADING — Diadem execs nab options

Insider trading transactions recently reported in the OSC Bulletin, published by the Ontario Securities Commission, include the following:

  • Diadem Resources (DIR-M) — Michael Bird, officer, was granted 50,000 options at 25 cents and sold 9,809 shares at 30 cents to hold 150,000 options and no shares; Harry Hodge, director, was granted 100,000 options at 24 cents and bought 5,000 shares at 25 cents to hold 100,000 options and 5,000 shares; Arthur Howe, director, was granted 100,000 options at 25 cents and sold 20,000 shares at 25 cents to hold 350,000 options and 1.19 million shares; Lina Noble, director, was granted 100,000 options 25 cents to hold 350,000 options; and George Silverman, director, was granted 100,000 options at 25 cents to hold 350,000 options.
  • Eloro Resources (ELOR-C) — Thomas Larsen, director, sold 15,000 shares at 20 cents to hold 789,500 shares; Northfield Minerals, holder of more than 10% of the company, bought 121,000 shares at 18-21 cents to hold 1.06 million shares; and Francis Sauve, director, bought 45,000 shares at 18-20 cents to hold 697,900 shares.
  • First Dynasty Mines (FDM-T) — Robert Friedland, owner of more than 10%, indirectly converted 17.31 million debentures into shares at 40 cents to hold 17.31 million shares in Ivanhoe Capital Finance.
  • Gran Colombia Resources (GRM-T) — Ophir Investment Fund, holder of more than 10%, sold 3.25 million shares at 30 cents to hold 546,550 shares, and Sun Valley Gold, owner of more than 10%, bought 435,000 shares indirectly at US17-18 cents and sold 2.96 million shares indirectly at US23 cents to hold 1.21 million shares indirectly.
  • Greenstone Resources (GRE-T) — Frederick Banfield, director, was granted 50,000 options at $2 to hold 50,000 options; Julio DiGirolamo, officer, was granted 25,000 options at $2 to hold 80,000 options; Thomas Lough, officer, bought 4,000 shares at $2.33 to hold 4,000 shares; and Willian Threlkeld, officer, was granted 100,000 options at $2 to hold 225,000 options.
  • Meridian Gold (MNG-T) — FMR Corp., owner of more than 10%, bought 68,100 shares indirectly at US$4.75-5.25 and sold 98,100 shares indirectly at US$4.68-5.22 to hold 7.9 million shares indirectly.
  • Rhonda Mining (RDM-A) — Glen Alston, director, bought 125,000 shares at 20 cents and another 4,500 shares privately at 16 cents, and sold 220,000 shares at 16-22 cents to hold 209,250 shares.
  • Viceroy Resources (VOY-T) — David Galabrigo, officer, exercised 76,000 options at $2.75 and sold those shares at $3.50-3.60 to hold 5,500 shares and 303,760 options, and Eric Edwards, officer, bought 26,000 shares at $2.70-2.81 to hold 126,485 shares directly and 49,695 shares indirectly.
