Yorbeau encouraged by drill results

Drilling to date from the Aw zone on Yorbeau Resources’ Astoria property near Rouyn-Noranda, Que., totals 32 intersections, of which 78% have assayed gold values in excess of 0.1 oz per ton, President Karl Glackmeyer reports.

Drilling along strike has not shown any weakening of the zone while drilling at depth has resulted in consistently higher grades, Mr Glackmeyer reports.

The gold-bearing zone now extends for 500 ft along strike and from about the 400-ft level through to the 1,500-ft level. The zone averages about 10 ft wide with some areas blossoming to 17 ft.

“We’re confident we can outline more than one million tons in the proven probable and possible categories at Astoria and the potential exists for more tonnage along strike and at depth,” the president says.

The current drilling program is also intersecting the parallel Bw zone and assays from this structure are proving higher than previously reported results from nearer the surface. The Aw is a sulphide zone whereas the Bw is a carbonate zone, but gold can be recovered by using the same process for both, Mr Glackmeyer reports. Both structures are virtually vertical; the Aw zone is generally wider.
