The crusher usually produces a product that is perfect ball mill feed in a single pass, according to a company which is using the unit on a gold property near Terrace, B.C.
The crusher was developed by combining the principle of high- speed synchronized vibration with the trampoline effect provided by rubber tires which support the jaws, the company says.
Each jaw is independently energized by an eccentrically weighted shaft moving at more than 1,800 rpms. The eccentric shafts are connected by drive shafts to a gear box, where timing and speed are established.
The jaws rotate in a free elliptical pattern; synchronized, but not fixed. This action of the jaws is timed so that the jaws move upward, then in toward each other, clapping the rock, drawing slightly down, then rebounding out against the tires to begin the next rotation. The flexibility created by the soft rebounding away from the rock provides a passive force.
This passive force allows the crusher to be started fully loaded; minimizes wear to the crusher; and provides the ability to pass tramp iron with no damage to the machinery. Circle Reply Card No.
