Wotco of Casper, Wy., has introduced a new auger-scraper for use with the Caterpillar 615 wheel tractor. The new 16AS scraper self-loads up to 16 cu yd of material in about one minute. Material flows over the cutting edge, is lifted by the rotating auger to be cast into all parts of the bowl. The apron, ejector and bowl lift are all controlled hydraulically.
Maximum tramming speed is 29 miles per hour. The unit can turn in fewer than 33 ft.
