Western to drill Mackenzie Break

Definition drilling is planned by Western Quebec Mines (TSE) on its recently acquired Mackenzie Break gold project 35 km north of Val d’Or, Que.

The 10,000-ft. program is aimed at verifying the continuity of a high-grade portion of a mineralized area outlined by a previous operator. The program will focus on the No. 4 lens where previous drilling yielded the following intersections (between surface and a 400-ft. depth): 0.83 oz. gold per ton over 10.1 ft.; 0.19 oz. over 12.8 ft.; 0.43 oz. over 6.5 ft.; 0.68 oz. over six feet; and 0.57 oz. over six feet.

The drilling will also test the continuity of the No. 1 and No. 2 lenses.
