Vizsla Copper (TSXV: VCU; US-OTC: VCUFF) said new drilling at the Poplar copper-molybdenum project in central British Columbia has extended the porphyry system’s footprint by 200 metres to the north.

Hole TH26-151 in the Thira zone cut 675 metres of 0.26% copper and 0.015% molybdenum from 32 metres downhole, Vizsla Copper said Monday in a statement. This included 435 metres of 0.31% copper and 0.022% molybdenum from 198 metres depth.

Mineralization remains open in multiple directions, Vizsla Copper said. Current drilling – covering about 8,000 metres — is focused on expanding the known system while also testing nearby targets such as Copper Pond and Camp Lake, which exhibit similar geophysical signatures.

“These are impressive results very early in our most significant drill program to date,” CEO Craig Parry said in the statement. “Now is the right time to be drilling out a near-surface copper deposit in this infrastructure rich portion of British Columbia that can be worked year-round.”

Vancouver-based Vizsla Copper was spun out in 2021 from Vizsla Silver (TSX, NYSE: VZLA), the Canadian miner that’s developing the Panuco silver project in Mexico where 10 miners were abducted earlier this year. At least seven of the workers were subsequently found dead.

Large corridor

Results from hole TH26-151 build on results from 2025 and demonstrate that mineralization extends for at least 800 meters east-west and at least 700 meters north-south, Vizsla Copper said Monday.

Other highlights from the ongoing drilling compaign include hole TH26-148, which cut 483 metres of 0.26% copper and 0.016% molybdenum from 9 metres depth.

Thira is part of a large alteration corridor extending more than 8 km, where geophysical and geochemical anomalies point to additional porphyry targets.

Located 400 km east of the deep-water port of Prince Rupert, Poplar covers about 470 sq. km in a proven mining district that also includes Imperial Metals’ (TSX: III) Huckleberry Copper Mine, about 38 km away. It hosts both the Thira discovery and the earlier-stage Poplar copper-gold deposit.

Poplar holds 152 million indicated tonnes grading 0.32% copper, 0.09 gram gold per tonne and 2.58 grams silver for contained metal of 1.1 billion lb. copper, 430,000 oz. gold and 12.6 million oz. silver, according to a 2021 resource.

It also holds 139 million inferred tonnes grading 0.29% copper, 0.07 gram gold and 4.95 grams silver for contained metal of 903 million lb. copper, 320,000 oz. gold and 22.2 million oz. silver.

Vizsla Copper shares rose 0.9% to $1.14 Monday morning in Toronto, boosting the company’s market value to about $102 million (C$73 million). The stock has traded between 50¢ and $2.68 in the past year.
