TSE intending to go decimal by spring, 1996

The board of the Toronto Stock Exchange has endorsed a plan to switch to decimal trading by spring, 1996.

Currently, TSE stocks valued at between $3 and $5 are traded in increments of 5 cents; those valued above $5 are traded in increments of 1/8 ($0.125).

Once decimalization is implemented, stocks priced between $3 and $5 will be traded in 1 cents increments, and those priced above $5 will be traded in 5 cents increments.
