Sphinx project

A small heap leach project near Amos, Que., is set to resume operation in early May after a winter break, Sphinx Mining (ME) reports. Last autumn the company extracted a 40,000-ton bulk sample from one of three known gold zones on its Duvay property; the material was crushed and placed on a leaching pad. A Merrill Crowe plant was installed to recover the gold.

Sphinx recently obtained a grant worth $125,000 under a federal- provincial (Quebec) mineral development agreement for work related to the project.
