Financial statements and MD&A and other documents that constitute an issuer’s continuous disclosure should provide information and insight about your company to the marketplace. A staff member from the Ontario Securities Commission will provide an overview of the continuous disclosure regime with an emphasis on the impact of recent developments on the continuous disclosure of mining issuers. Areas that have been identified as problematic in 2008 continuous disclosure reviews will be illustrated and discussed. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) will have a significant impact on Canada’s mining industry beginning in 2011. The mining industry has begun to plan but can also learn from conversions already in progress. The conversion to IFRS will affect virtually every important decision a company makes. Where should you be now with respect to your IFRS conversion project? What lessons can we learn from conversions already in process? Ernst & Young and the Accounting Standards Board will shed light on these issues and provide practical advice to help miners speak this new reporting language. Chief Financial Officers and investor relations personnel should attend these presentations.
