Two Quebec properties owned by Rogi Exploration (ME) will see work programs totalling $350,000 performed on them this year as part of separate deals with Freewest Resources and Aur Resources (TSE). Aur Resources has granted Rogi the right to earn a 49% interest in the former company’s 37-claim Ducros property in Bourlamaque Twp., five miles south of Val d’Or, Que.
To earn its interest, Rogi must spend $1.5 million over a 3-year period beginning with a $250,000 work program this year. The program, operated by Aur, is expected to begin in July and will include geophysical surveys followed by at least 7,000 ft. of diamond drilling.
The Ducros property is a gold and base metals prospect located immediately to the south of the former East Sullivan mine, which produced 16.5 million tons of copper-zinc silver ore during 1948- 66. Previous drilling on the property intersected copper mineralization grading up to 1.4% copper over 22 ft. and 2.1% copper over 5 ft., as well as gold values of 0.20 oz. gold per ton across 2 ft.
Elsewhere, Freewest is spending $100,000, before Feb. 28, 1991, to earn a 51% interest in Rogi’s 28-claim property in Villebon Twp., east of Val d’Or. That exploration program is expected to start in May.
