The first hole drilled on Murgor Resources’ (VSE) 14-claim Barry Twp. gold property in northwestern Quebec has intersected a 34-metre wide mineralized zone.
Although assays are pending, the company reports that the mineralized intersection (which is believed to be true width) is visually similar to material which is exposed in surface trenches. The trench mineralization, described as carbonatized and silicified mafic volcanic rocks with pyrite, yielded values of up to 0.334 oz. per ton over 31.4 ft.
Murgor director Mackenzie Watson told The Northern Miner that a second hole, designed to undercut the first hole at a vertical depth of 200 to 300 ft., is under way. Stepout holes, along strike, will be carried out next.
