More gold hit at Kiena mine

Wesdome Gold Mines (WDG-V) has cut significant gold as it firms up a resource at its Kiena mine property, 10 km west of Val d’Or, Que.

Drilling was highlighted by one hole, which cut a true width of 7.7 metres grading 26.5 grams gold per tonne in the VC3 zone; the grade is 19.35 grams gold per tonne, when high grade is cut to 34.28 grams gold.

Thirteen metres farther down hole, a 5.3-metre true-width interval graded 2.75 grams gold per tonne. This correlates with the VC2 zone. Ten metres later the hole cut a 3.8-metre true-width intercept grading 2.95 grams gold corresponding with the VC1 zone.

The latest test of the VC3 zone comprised six holes fanned 15-20 from one another from the same setup on the 520-metre level of the past-producing mine. All holes cut the VC3 zone and continued into the VC2 zone and three of the six, cut VC1.

Five of the holes through the VC3 zone cut 1-14 metres grading 3-8 grams gold per tonne. The VC2 zone was intersected over true widths of 3.3-8.5 metres and graded 1.4-3.1 grams gold per tonne. VC1 had a true width of 2.8-3.8 metres, with grades of 1.9-4.1 grams gold per tonne.

The VC zone has been tested over a 60-metre strike length. It is open to the west and is thinning to the east. These holes were the most easterly drilled to date. At least one more section will be drilled farther east.

Drilling is on-going.
