LATIN AMERICA — Cuba OKs work proposal

The government of Cuba has approved a proposal by MacDonald Mines Exploration (MMP-A) to step up its exploration for gold on the island nation.

Over the past four years, the company has identified 36 target areas in a 2,000-sq.-km concession in what it describes as a Cretaceous goldbelt. A recently completed private placement will provide funds for the work.
