Third-quarter net earnings of $7.3 million(US) (18 cents per share) were reported by Freeport-McMoRan Gold compared with $4.5 million (11 cents per share) for the same period in 1986. Revenues during the third quarter totalled $25.4 million compared with $18.9 million last year.
Gold production during the quarter was 80,580 oz at an average cost of $163.15 per oz before depreciation. To the end of September this year, the company’s gold output was 235,895 oz.
Net income for the first nine months of this year was $20.1 million (49 cents per share) compared with $8.4 million (21 cents per share) for the same period last year. Revenues for the nine months totalled $71.1 million compared with $46.7 million for the same period last year.
