Firesteel expands Copper Creek

Vancouver — Drilling by Firesteel Resources (FTR-V) has extended copper and gold mineralization on the Copper Creek property in northwestern British Columbia.

The latest holes intersected 117 metres grading 0.36% copper and 0.2 gram gold per tonne plus 84 metres averaging 0.32% copper and 0.2 gram gold.

The drilling tested the thick supergene enrichment zone and extended it 200 metres to the south, while trenching sampled the supergene blanket, returning intervals of 30-72 metres grading 0.32-0.7% copper and up to 0.23 gram gold.

The copper mineralization, being primarily secondary, consists of malachite, azurite and chalcocite. Tests last year showed high leachability, indicating potential for the production of copper cathode on site.

The company has so far traced the zone at Copper Creek over a length of 350 metres and a width of 250 metres, and to a depth of 250 metres. The structure remains open in all directions.

The Copper Creek property is 50 km northwest of Telegraph Creek in the Stikine Arch region.

Firesteel has 27.2 million shares outstanding and recently traded at 27.
