Date set for acquisition of DFR

The end of Diamond Fields Resources (DFR-T) is in sight.

The closing date for the acquisition of DFR by Inco (N-T) has been set for Wednesday, Aug. 21. DFR shareholders have until 5 p.m. on the preceding day if they wish to receive cash for all or part of their shares.

The deal had been held up for several months by a legal dispute with Texas-based Exdiam, some former officials of which claimed ownership of all of Diamond Fields’ assets, including the massive Voisey’s Bay nickel-copper-cobalt project. That dispute was recently settled out of court for US$25 million.
