Weak gold and silver prices are taking a toll on Coeur d’Alene Mines (NYSE), an Idaho-based producer which reported losses for its most recent quarter and for the first nine months of this year.
B.Tut the company was able to trim its 9-month loss this year to US$2.07 million from US$9 million in the first nine months of 1991. The reduced loss was achieved through an ongoing expense control program in mining operations, administration and exploration.
