The volume leader on coats this week was Tarzan. Trading more than 450,000 shares, the issue hit $1.25 at the high. Tarzan’s exploration projects, which are run by well- known geologist Robert Middleton, include a large block of ground on the Ontario side of the Casa Berardi trend. Rumor of a strong drill hole pulled by Esso Minerals on property in Blakelock Twp., Ont., helped the Trazan stock. Tarzan’s property is near the Esso claims.
Goldstake Explorations, which was also actively traded, reached 80 cents . The company is busy with a tailings recovery project in South Dakota. Goldstake plans to treat a portion of the tailings generated by the big Homestake gold mine which has been in operation more than 100 years.
Black Gregor Explorations was another busy issue, trading 191,700 shares to close at 44 cents . Grandad Resources traded up to 67 cents on good volume of more than 70,000 shares.
