COAL, URANIUM & OIL SANDS — Cavelier drilling completed

A 6-hole drilling program at the Cavelier property, 25 km southwest of Matagami, Que., has partners Geonova Explorations (GNE-M) and Gowest Amalgamated Resources (GWA-A) reviewing their plans for the project.

The target was a gold zone that had been identified in five earlier drill holes, in a graphitic fault zone in a brecciated cherty argillite. All six holes interseced the structural target. The best results from the drilling program were two short intersections of gold mineralization, one of 0.85 metre grading 1.3 grams gold per tonne, and another of 0.6 metre grading 2.9 grams.

Geonova and Gowest have reinterpreted some of the geophysical work done on the property, and compiled a plan of the known gold showings on properties that adjoin Cavelier to the north and east. The companies believe that the showings align on a structural trend that runs slightly south of east across the property, about 300 metres north of the area drilled this year. The structure has a strike length of 1.7 km on the Cavelier property and crosses Geonova’s wholly-owned property for a further 0.5 km.
