Reconnaissance work in Peru has led to the discovery of a large gold-copper-bearing porphyry zone outside and to the east of the Rio Oro property.
Altai Resources (TSE) says the zone has a visible length of about 3,300 ft., an average width of 650 ft. and an easterly dip of 30. Further evaluation is planned.
As a result of the discovery, Altai has added 20 square miles of additional claims to the Rio Oro joint-venture holdings and has acquired a similar amount of claims in its own name.
Altai and project partner Chimu Mining await assay results from a recent property evaluation.
