Mineral processing has been around for as long as mining, but it has seen little innovation in all that time, says Dundee Sustainable Technologies President and CEO Jean-Philippe Mai.
Mai hopes Dundee can start to change that by helping mine operators reduce their environmental footprint as much as possible — without a reduction in recoveries. Among Dundee’s solutions are its CLEVR cyanide-free gold extraction process, which can speed recovery times to hours rather than days and eliminates the need for tailings ponds, and its GlassLock arsenic sequestration process. The CEO discussed both processes with Northern Miner Editor-in-Chief Alisha Hiyate at the recent Canadian Mining Symposium in London.
