Chinese mining giant Jinchuan Group has signed a contract with the Swedish power and automation technology group, ABB, to purchase a mine hoist for its nickel mine near Jinchang.
The new hoist, to be delivered in fall 2009, will be used to bring nickel from a new level in the mine, up to the surface.
Equipment to be provided by ABB includes: the pulley and shaft, brake system, a System 800xA control system, motors, an ACS 6000 SD drive system and transformers.
ABB will also supply switchgear, skips, measuring pocket and unloading equipment for the new mine hoist. The mine is located in Gansu province, China.
