Student-Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop

For two weeks this May, 20 select post-secondary geoscience students will arrive in Sudbury to participate in the Student-Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop. It is another initiative of the PDAC Student Affairs Committee, co-chaired by Lynda Bloom and Scott Jobin-Bevans, to encourage students to pursue a career in the geosciences and mineral exploration industry, which will face a human resources crisis within the decade as the current workforce enters retirement.

This workshop will introduce students to the mining cycle, concentrating on grassroots exploration and economic geology. Students will participate in networking activities, lectures, presentations and hands-on classes to include mineral deposits, exploration techniques, geophysics, legal and regulatory matters, environmental concerns, and careers.

Opportunities to contribute to this workshop are now available:

* Patron contributor at $10,000

* Premier contributor at $5,000

* Workshop contributors at $2,500 – $4,999

* Friend contributors from $500 – $2,499

To learn more about this exciting workshop and/or how to contribute, contact Lynda Bloom at Lynda@explorationgeochem.com.
