Pioneer reports first-quarter loss

The company is expecting revenue from the seasonal Stibnite mine in Idaho during its third and fourth quarters of 1989. Start-up is under way for the Premier Gold project near Stewart, B.C., however revenues from the company’s 40% interest will not begin until the start of commercial production later this year.

Pioneer recently suspended mining and milling operations at its Puffy Lake gold mine in Manitoba.
