Chesbar, Murgold report continued high gold values

Underground drifting on the 400-ft level at the Chester Twp. gold project in northern Ontario has confirmed the strong downward continuity of the No 3 vein system, Murgold Resources (TSE) President Charles McAlpine reports.

For the first 337 ft of drifting on the 3A vein, face samples averaged 0.37 oz gold per ton across an average width of 4.38 ft (or, 0.25 oz across an average width of 6.82 ft), McAlpine said.

Partners Murgold (40%) and Chesbar Resources (TSE), the operator with a 60% interest, recently completed a ramp to the 500-ft level where drifting is under way.

Underground drilling below the 400-ft level continues to delineate the several parallel gold-bearing structures which make up the No 3 vein system. Among the better results:

Width Grade Hole Vein (ft) (oz/t) SSU-44 3A 3 0.28

4 4 3.24 SSU-47 3 9 0.18

4 5 2.48 SSU-55 3 3 0.53

3 2 0.41 SSU-59 3 9 1.44

4 1 0.61

McAlpine said the results indicate several of the veins continue with positive gold values to depths of 300 ft or more below the 400-ft level.
