Petromet in deal on N.S. gold bets

Under a memorandum of agreement, Petromet Resources and Greenstrike Gold Corp. will spend $300,000 each by the end of February this year on the Nova Scotia mining properties of Onitap Resources.

Located near Isaac’s Harbour in Guysborough Cty., the properties consist of 37 contiguous claims containing four former gold producers, Dolliver Mountain, West Gold Brook, Boston Richardson and East Gold Brook.

The companies say the most significant of these is the Boston Richardson, which produced approximately 50,000 oz gold from 375,000 tons mined, at an average recoverable grade of 0.13 oz gold per ton.

A program of ground geophysics and diamond drilling is expected to start early this month.
