Encouraging values are reported from summer drilling at Da Capo Resources’ (VSE) Amayapampa gold property in Bolivia.
Results are in hand for 34 holes drilled to date. The ongoing program will involve 55 reverse-circulation holes for a total of 5,500 metres of drilling. Highlights from the most recent round of results include 38 metres grading 21.77 grams gold per tonne in hole AP38, and 116 metres grading 1.6 grams in AP47.
To the south of Amayapampa, Da Capo has calculated a preliminary geologic resource for the Capa Circa property. Based on 13 drill holes and 17 underground crosscuts, this resource is estimated at 7 million tonnes grading 2.4 grams gold per tonne using a 1-gram cutoff. The resource jumps to 28.1 million tonnes at 1.31 grams, with a 0.7-gram cutoff.
Though drilling is completed for the season at Capa Circa, the deposit remains open to the north and at depth. The company has begun a prefeasibility study for the property. Prefeasibility work is also under way for Amayapampa, and Da Capo is looking into the possibility of developing the two projects as one operation.
