Bailey Controls and E.I. Du Pont De Nemours & Co. have reached an agreement whereby BaiBai will serve as one of two preferred suppliers of distributed process controls to Du Pont facilities worldwide. The agreement, which applies to more than 200 current DuPont locations and all future plants, covers the purchase of Bailey INFI 90 distributed digital systems plus a wide range of field instrumentation.
Fisher Controls Co. of Canada has opened a 3,150-sq.-metre application facility in Cambridge, Ont. It is one of six Fisher facilities in the world dedicated to the staging, assembling and testing of PROVOX plus instrumentation systems hardware and software products. Also, Fisher has donated a PROVOX system to the engineering faculties of the University of Waterloo and the University of Western Ontario. The PROVOX system incorporates advanced proross control technology.
Mt. Newman Mining Co. of Australia has exercised its option of the first 240-ton WISEDA haulers delivered to the Whaleback mine in western Australia. These KL-2450 “King of the Lode” haulers were the first 240-ton trucks delivered in Australia. They are manufactured by WISEDA Ltd. of Baxter Springs, Kansas.
OK Orenstein & Koppel AG of Dortmund, Germany, in co-operation with its Canadian subsidiary, has delivered the first RH 200 hydraulic mining shovel in North America to the Balmer operation of Westar Mining. Westar produces and markets coal from two surface mines in the Rocky Mountain area in southeastern British Columbia, near Sparwood.
