LAST BUT NOT LEAST — Claimstaker eyes Blackdome mine

Junior Claimstaker Resources (VSE) is planning a diamond drill program for the Blackdome gold mine, a former producer near Clinton, B.C.

The company has agreed to acquire the mine, together with a 200-tonne-per-day mill, miscellaneous heavy equipment and a mining camp. Blackdome formerly produced 7 million grams (224,000 oz.) gold from 338,000 tonnes of ore. A recent study indicates that a resource of 73,000 tonnes grading 14 grams gold per tonne exists within the present mine area. Claimstaker’s drill program is aimed at confirming and extending the existing reserves, and at exploring some 2 km of favorable geology.
