NEWS ROUNDUP — Zone extended at depth, says Glimmer

Drilling on the Beatty-Hislop prospect in northeastern Ontario has extended the East zone at depth, Glimmer Resources (VSE) reports.

Hole 70 intersected 12.14 grams gold per tonne (0.35 oz. per ton) across four metres (cut grade) at a depth of 400 metres, says Glimmer, which has a 40% interest in the project eight kilometres east of Matheson. Glimmer’s partner and project operator, with a 60% interest, is Hemlo Gold Mines (TSE). The work program is being performed by Noranda Exploration on behalf of Hemlo Gold.

Hole 71 is being drilled 200 metres to the west to intersect the mineralized zone at 350 metres (vertical depth), Glimmer says. Another hole, the company reports, cut two altered parallel mafic volcanic units eight metres and 35 metres wide, respectively, and 300 metres north of the other mineralized zones.

Glimmer estimates preliminary project reserves of 968,190 tonnes grading 11.6 grams to an average depth of 250 metres.
