Mill throughput during the month averaged 473 tons per day at an average head grade of 0.251 oz gold per ton. During the first 10 days of the month, processing included low grade, stockpiled ore. By month’s end, mill feed was being provided completely from underground stopes, Windarra reports.
The Magnacon mine was officially opened in early summer this year. Once the start-up bugs are worked out (the mill has been experiencing periodic shutdowns because of mechanical problems), plans call for a daily production rate of 600 tons, with an eventual increase to 800 tons. Current reserves stand at 1.4 million tons averaging 0.248 oz.
“During the first five days of November, ore grades and recoveries have continued to improve with average grade exceeding projections based on the feasibility study,” President Ronald Philp says in a press release.
Windarra has a 25% interest in the mine, for which annual output of 80,000 oz has been projected. The operator, Muscocho Explorations (TSE), has a 25% interest and Flanagan McAdam Resources a 50% interest.
