Atlantic, with more than $12 million in cash, plans to merge with Jascan Resources, which is also cash heavy holding an equal amount of money. Atlantic traded up to 74 cents .

South American Goldfields was steady at 65 cents on volume of 10,000 shares. The company has several large mining concessions in Guyana which have been optioned to Denison Mines and Homestake Mining.

A tailings play, Goldstake Explorations, traded more than 90,000 shares this week to a high of $1.50. The company controls a large section of the mine tailings generated by the big Homestake gold mine in South Dakota. The company is planning to process the dump material and recover gold.
