The first phase of a drilling campaign undertaken by Essor Exploration on the Aiguebelle property in northwestern Quebec has detected a gold-bearing structure, President Guy Morissette reports.
Essor is involved in a joint venture on the property with Kerr Addison Mines and Eldor Resources.
Three drill holes have confirmed the presence of the structure intersected by the discovery hole (aig-87-22), which yielded 3.5 g gold per tonne over 16.02 m.
Among the better results from the three drill holes were: hole aig-87-26, between 9.16 m and 9.9 m, 24.8 g over 0.74 m; hole aig-87-27, between 85.26 m and 86.72 m, 2.26 g over 1.46 m, and between 115.87 m and 117.68 m, 2.72 g over 1.81 m; and hole aig-87-28, between 64.9 m and 66.63 m, 19.37 g (cut) over 1.73 m.
Mr Morissette reports channel sampling carried out on the Fayolle showing situated about 100 m northeast of the drilled site has defined a northeast-southwest gold halo grading 1 g-5 g over 4-5 m (including values up to 22 g). A drilling program is planned for this new zone, which is open at both ends.
