CSA encouraged with Bell Creek

Surface and underground exploration results from the Bell Creek gold project, near Timmins, Ont., continue to support a positive mining decision, Consolidated CSA Minerals says in a report to shareholders. Held equally in joint venture with Canamax Resources, the Bell Creek project is expected to get the green light for mill construction this year.

At the nearby Marlhill property, north of the Bell Creek mine workings, ore reserves have been increased by Canamax to 300,000 tons averaging 0.2 oz gold per ton.

Exploration has also been carried out on the Mikwam project claims which cover the extension of the Casa Berardi trend crossing into Ontario. Operated by Newmont Mines, the project has been hampered by poor weather, CSA says. Results from the spring exploration program are expected shortly. As of June 30, CSA had a cash positon of $2 million.
