San to drill near Bissett

Winnipeg-based San Gold Resources (SGR-W) has launched a major exploration program on its property near the producing Bissett mine in northern Manitoba.

The $500,000 program will consist of basal till sampling and drilling to test weathered, poorly exposed areas of the property underlain by regional brittle and ductile shear zones (such as the Normandy Creek shear and the large-scale Wanipigow Fault).

The goal is to define down-ice gold dispersion trains from gold deposits in the shear zones. Airborne geophysics and geological mapping will help define drill targets for testing later this year.

San Gold has signed a preliminary agreement with a private company owned by the Hunter-Dickenson group of Vancouver, covering exploration ground surrounding San Gold’s current project. The terms allow the group to earn up to a 70% interest by spending $2 million over five years.
