Camnor drills prospects

Junior Camnor Resources (CMB-V) has announced plans to drill-test three of the 18 Alaskan properties in which it has interests.

  • Discovery Gulch — Initially, drilling will focus on the Discovery Gulch property, which is in an area that has produced about 1 million oz. of placer gold (though no attributable bedrock source has been discovered). The property is at the headwaters of Switch Creek (reportedly one of the richest placers in the district) and comprises more than 3,000 acres. Discovery Gulch is accessible by road and lies up-slope from several active placer operations.

Camnor stands to earn a 51% interest in the property from Copper Ridge Explorations (KRX-V).

Four reverse-circulation holes will be put down to test a strong gold-arsenic-bismuth soil anomaly with associated bedrock gold mineralization. Previous trenching and mapping indicate that gold mineralization is hosted in a Tombstone-Suite-aged intrusion. The best trench result cut 45.7 metres averaging 0.55 gram per tonne, including a 6.1-metre section of 1.1 grams gold.

  • Cirque — Camnor’s second drill target will be the Cirque volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) prospect, 100 km south of Fairbanks in the Bonnifield district. The property hosts two zones of VMS mineralization. Diamond drilling will test a high-grade surface showing where chip sampling resulted in an average of 3.73 grams gold, 98.5 grams silver, 3.84% zinc, 2.76% lead and 0.5% copper over a 2.4-metre interval.
  • Glory Creek — Drill crews will then move on to the Glory Creek property, which contains narrow (up to 0.3 metre wide) quartz and carbonate vein systems that occur intermittently in an area measuring 1.4 km by 760 metres. The veins contain varying amounts of galena, sphalerite, arsenopyrite, stibnite and pyrite. Grab samples assayed high-grade values of up to 31 grams gold and 442 grams silver. The Cirque and Glory Creek properties are both part of a joint venture with Golden Phoenix Minerals (gpxm-n), in which Camnor can earn up to a 100% interest.
