Partners Emerging Africa Gold (EAG-C) and West African Mining (SMF-M) remain hopeful following assay results from eight preliminary holes drilled on the Jean-Gobele gold property in Guinea.
Testing the northeastern extension of the Gobele vein system, the partners hit grades of up to 12 grams gold per tonne over widths of 1-40.5 metres.
The best results include: 9 metres grading 5.73 grams in hole 4; 12 metres grading 12.03 grams in hole 5; and 33.5 metres grading 2.89 grams in 7. None of these figures has been corrected for true width.
Previous results from 20 holes collared at the southern end of the Gobele system returned an average of 5 grams over a true width of 7 metres.
The partners will resume drilling in mid-October.
