Drilling at the Sault property of Tri Origin Exploration (TSE) has intersected “low but anomalous” gold values, and suggests there may be good potential for gold deposits.
Seven holes, with a total length of 2,082 metres, have been drilled in this most recent program on the property, which lies 90 km north of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. The targets were two sulphide bodies on the western side of the property, where shallow drilling had intersected massive sulphides containing up to 7.2 grams gold per tonne. The sulphide zones were tested at depth last fall, and yielded one intersection grading 1.1 grams gold per tonne over 7 metres.
Three holes on the southern zone intersected 13.5 to 30 metres of disseminated to massive sulphides. One intersection returned 17.5 grams gold per tonne over a 1-metre core length, while other intersections contained values of below 1 gram.
Four holes on the northern zone all intersected disseminated to massive sulphides in intersections ranging in apparent width from 1.8 to 49.5 metres. The highest gold concentration was 0.66 gram per tonne.
Downhole geophysics will determine additional drill targets.
