Partners Portman Explorations (VSE) and Tapestry Ventures (VSE) report anomalous base metal values from the fourth hole on their ANAK-1 property, 13 miles northwest of the Voisey Bay deposit in Labrador.
The hole intersected more than 900 ft. of Tasuiyak gneiss but did not intersect the contact between the gneiss and the sulphide-bearing anorthosite target horizon.
Sampling on the upper 550 ft. of the hole returned up to 0.15% copper, 0.09% nickel and 0.02% cobalt.
Down-hole geophysics on the hole identified a strong anomaly 150 ft. to the west. Ground geophysics also identified the anomaly, and the joint venture recently drilled a fifth hole to test the conductor.
Hole 5 intersected 58 ft. of disseminated mineralization, starting at a depth of 399 ft. The upper 16 ft. of the interval consist of 10% magnetite as massive bands and disseminated pyrrhotite, while the lower 42 ft. consist of 5% disseminated pyrrhotite with minor graphite.
Further drilling may be carried out, pending the receipt of assay results. The drill is testing another geophysical anomaly, 1,300 ft. to the west.
