A second phase of drilling at the Headway property in the Red Lake camp of Ontario has returned mixed results for
The highest reported result was 63.52 grams over half a metre; the lowest, 0.84 gram over 1 metre. Other results from the 6-hole program include:
– — 3.08 grams over 10.8 metres, including 1 metre at 7.18 grams and another metre at 15.17 grams, in hole 4;
– — 2.7 grams over 3.2 metres, including 6.33 grams over 1.2 metres, in hole 5;
– — 1.54 grams over 1.5 metre in hole 7; and
– — 4.07 grams over 0.6 metre in hole 9.
Several holes hit more than one mineralized interval, similar to hole 1 in the first campaign, completed in the summer. That hole cut 18 metres averaging 1.1 grams but included up to 4.8 grams over 1 metre.
Gold is developed in quartz-carbonate tourmaline and arsenopyrite veins associated with quartz-feldspar porphyry dykes that intrude altered and sheared mafic volcanics. Up to 85.22 grams over 0.61 metre has been reported from the veins.
The Headway property hosts two east-west-trending shear zones, dubbed Main and Headway. The former has been traced on surface for 700 metres and averages 15 metres wide, while the latter extends for 1,200 metres and averages 300 metres wide.
