A drilling program is under way on Hawkins Hill at the Hill End project of Nugget Resources (ASE) in New South Wales, Australia.
The junior says an east-west “fence” of holes will crosscut the line of strike about 400 metres south of the Star of Hope mine property. That region of Australia was a prolific gold-producing area during the latter half of the 1800s. Nugget says that in the 1870s, 11 tonnes of gold were mined along a quarter-mile strike length, to an average depth of 250 metres, and that there were a dozen properties and at least 20 mine shafts. Nugget will earn a 45% interest in the project through completion of its current drill program.
