GOLD (January 01, 1993)

Gold: The Skaergaard intrusion of East Greenland is probably the best known occurrence. However, GGU geologists have found gold mineralization in the more traditional greenstone belts of the Nuussuaq peninsula in the Disko Bay area of central West Greenland. It is described in a preliminary report — Open File Series 92/3.

Nunaoil’s discovery of several gold-mineralized quartz veins at Nalunaq in Kirkespir valley has also sparked interest. The Main Vein outcrop runs some 800 m and varies in thickness from 0.05 m to 1.66
