Estimating preliminary reserves of 30 million tons grading 0.48% copper on its MacLeod Lake property north of Chibougamau, Que., Windy Mountain Explorations’ share price moved up 25 cents before dropping back to close at $2.75 on a volume of 30,950 for the week ended May 1. Estimates are based on a 35-hole grassroots drilling program completed at the end of March. Visible gold and grades of up to 0.15 oz. over narrow widths have been reported by Pelangio-Larder Mines from their recently acquired property adjacent to Placer-Dome’s Detour Lake mine, 125 miles northeast of Timmins, Ont. Recent work by the Ontario Geological Survey suggests that the major deformation zone known to host the Detour Lake deposit strikes across Pelangio’s property. Pelangio shares were 30 cents bid, 35 cents ask for the week.
With the Oxford Lake project in northern Manitoba progressing smoothly, Lithium recently issued two private placements of three million shares and three million warrants. Lithium shares edged up another 5 cents to close at $1.55 on a volume of 289,100.
Both Geraldton Longlac Gold and Ferau Resources completed joint venture agreements with Hardrock Extension. Shares of both companies were 5 cents bid, 12 cents ask for the week.
