News in Brief (May 22, 1989)

The results were incorrectly reported (N.M., May 15/89) as first- quarter earnings for 1989.

Giant Yellowknife Mines Ltd. (TSE) posted a first-quarter loss of $183,000 or 2 cents per share compared to a $2.3-million loss, 27 cents per share, in the same period last year. Revenue was $28 million, up from $26 million in the first quarter of last year. The reduced loss was due to an increase in gold production at the Yellowknife division and lower production costs at both Yellowknife and Timmins divisions.

Tri-Pacific Resources has changed its name to International Membership Marketing Inc. (IM:VSE) on a share-for-share basis. Transfer agent is Central Guaranty Trust Company.
