Drilling identifies gold-bearing pods

Five gold-bearing pods have been partly delimited by J.A.G. Mines at its Malartic property in northwestern Quebec, following drilling at 19 sites.

The pods are contained in a structure 4,000 ft long and 600 ft deep; according to a company press release, evidence suggests the structure extends both sideways and in depth. An additional length of 7,000 ft in the eastern extension is under J.A.G. control, and a second zone, similar to the first one and located 100 ft to the north, has been identified over a length of 900 ft.

While the geological deposits encountered to date are being assessed, the company says subsoil exploration is necessary to identify each deposit’s average grade. The company will do more drilling, however, to delimit the extensions of the structure and identify other exploration targets before it proceeds with its subsoil assessment.
