A US$900,000 exploration program is under way on the Ianna property in northwestern Guyana.
Canarc Resource (TSE) can earn up to a 65% interest under a joint-venture agreement with Guyana-based Roraima Mining Company.
A 3,150-metre drill program will test four targets (defined by soil sampling and deep augering) for bulk-tonnage potential. Recent trenching of the Sweetheart anomaly returned 16 metres of 8.43 grams gold per tonne, 10 metres of 0.79 grams, and 30 metres of 1.67 grams.
The Sweetheart anomaly measures 1,100 by 650 metres, based on a cutoff grade of 0.5 gram, and lies within the larger Ianna Stock anomaly. That anomaly represents a mineralized area measuring 3,800 by 2,000 metres at a cutoff of 0.1 gram.
