Inco and union reach initial deal

Toronto-listed Inco and its Manitoba division have reached a tentative deal in contract talks with Local 6166 of the United Steelworkers of America.

A ratification vote was scheduled for Sept. 15, details of which were to remain confidential until the full union membership learned of them. The negotiations began in June and a new agreement, if ratified, will replace an existing 3-year agreement.
