Waterland leaving Mining Association

Effective March 1, Gary Livingstone will become president and chief executive officer of the Mining Association of British Columbia, replacing Tom Waterland who resigned to pursue a new career.

Livingstone, a former president of Westar Mining, comes to the association with a broad background encompassing the management of numerous mining companies. Association Chairman Jim O’Rourke says Livingstone’s extensive experience in mining qualifies him to represent the industry. “He clearly understands the investment climate which is required to allow mining to continue its contribution to the standard of living we enjoy in B.C.,” O’Rourke says.
